Olokode leads Lions region 4 as club marks international youth day with ‘walk of life’
Members of Lions Club region 4 led by their chairperson, Lion Oluwaseyi Olokode last Wednesday 12th August, 2020 embarked on Lions Walk for Life – Fitness Walk.The walk which was organized to commemorate this year’s International Youth Day celebration had lions troop out in their numbers.
The walk which lasted for about three hours started from Ikorodu roundabout and ended at the Ferry Terminal Ebute where an orientation on the effect of drug abuse, abstinence practice and preventive measures took place.
Led by its energetic and visionary chairperson, Lion Oluwaseyi Olokode, Lions Region 4 partnered with two federal government agencies – the National Orientation Agency (NOA) and Nation Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). Both agencies were on hand to anchor some of the events of the day like the talk on the effects of Drug Abuse on the Nigerian youths and the elderly alike. Educative literature were also distributed to youths and parents along the stretch of the walk.
Speaking at the occasion, Olokode enjoined youths in the neighborhoods visited to abstain from drugs and find ways of connecting positively to the opportunities available in this digital age in order to reach their full potentials as leaders of tomorrow.
