Orji Uzor Kalu, chief whip of the Nigerian senate, and member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday corrected insinuations of possible departure to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that tittle-tattles have been doing the rounds, saying Kalu, a 2023 presidential aspirant is considering dumping the APC and moving to APGA, as he might not be chosen as the APC presidential flagbearer in respect of next year’s election.
These speculations follows Kalu’s recent visit to APGA National Chairman, Professor Victor Oye.
But according to Kalu, the meeting he had with Prof. Oye was not more than “a family affair”.
“I have seen some insinuations surrounding my visit to the National Chairman of APGA, Professor Victor Oye. For clarification, Victor Oye is a family to me . He worked for Slok Group 28 years ago. When I was Governor, he worked with me throughout the eight years . Even the university I built in Igbere is supervised by him. It does not make any meaning to convert a family affair to political affair,” Kalu said via his verified Facebook page.
