Mo Abudu reveals how she made it big
Media entrepreneur, Mo Abudu has said she earned everything that she owns.
She said this in an interview with Chude Jideonwo on his show, WithChude.
While reacting to claims that she had been born in Ikoyi, she delved into her family background, the location of her birth and how far she had come.
She said, “I wasn’t born in Ikoyi. I was born in England. Both my parents are from Ondo…their parents were hardworking class cocoa farmers in Ondo, who in the 60s sent their children to England. They were fortunate enough to have made money from cocoa family to send their children to England to go and study.
“I was fortunate to have been born in England. Some of the blessings I have been blessed with are that you have access around the world because you hold a British passport…thank God you still have dual nationality in Nigeria. I have a Nigerian passport too, depending on where I’m going.
“Basically, I was born into a working-class family. I lost my father when I was eleven, my father died in England. Very early on, I had to be really strong. And I have done, all manner of jobs, because my mum was left with not very much and I was the eldest daughter.
“I’m not saying I haven’t had the benefit of a decent education and everything else that goes with it.
“I don’t want anyone to get lost in all this I was born with…I am self-made…everything that I have, and I give God the glory for it.”
