REALITY TV star Caitlyn Jenner revealed she has been in contact with Lewis Hamilton in the last few weeks with the Mercedes ace gearing up for the 2022 season after intense speculation over his future.

Lewis Hamilton is “training every day” and ready to go for the upcoming F1 season, according to Caitlyn Jenner. The American reality TV star and Olympic champion has spoken of her friendship with the seven-time world champion, and has revealed details of a conversation they shared in recent weeks.

Hamilton’s future in F1 has been up in the air, ever since he missed out on what would have been a record eighth world title last season.

He was denied that accolade in controversial circumstances, with race director Michael Masi making a number of debatable calls in the final few laps of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen made the most of the situation to overtake Hamilton on the final lap and become a world champion for the first time.

The Dutchman will defend his title this year, and for many weeks there were rumours that he might not have to worry about a challenge from his main rival.

But, after ending his social media hiatus with a series of defiant and positive messages, it appears the Briton is set for at least one more crack at the championship.

Now, Caitlyn Jenner – who won a gold medal at the Olympics in 1976 and has since shot to fame as part of the Kardashian family – has revealed she has been in recent contact with the star.

The 72-year-old is a keen motorsport fan, and announced this week that she has formed her own team ‘Jenner Racing’ which will compete in the all-female W Series this year.

“I’ve met Lewis on a couple of occasions. When you meet somebody and you know them, all of a sudden you’re going to cheer for them,” she said.

“I talked to him a couple of weeks ago to find out his feelings on the W Series and what he thought about it when I was thinking about getting in.

“He was very positive – loved the idea.

“I said to him ‘thank you for making last season very exciting’. The years before that, when you win the series with three races to go, it’s not as exciting.

“As an athlete I have not problem with [Hamilton] dominating. Running the decathlon I had no problem dominating.

“But I asked him ‘wasn’t there a year where you won it in the last turn?’ And he said ‘yeah that was 2008’. This time he got beat on the last lap.
