Omoyele Sowore Speaks About Campaigning For Buhari
Human rights activist, publisher, and politician, Omoyele Sowore has denied ever campaigning for Muhammadu Buhari to become the President of Nigeria.
Sowore said anyone accusing him of campaigning for Buhari should provide the evidence.
CityNews Nigeria reports Sowore made the denial during an interview with Punch published on Sunday where he was asked a question on why he and some others campaigned for Buhari to become the President of Nigeria in 2015.
In his response, however, the activist denied the allegation and challenged anyone who believes he campaigned for Buhari to make the evidence public.
He wrote: “That is not correct. If you or anyone could provide just one evidence of where I appear in a campaign for Buhari, either a video, or where I spoke on radio, wrote an article, granted an interview, or engaged in any of the processes that could be regarded as a campaign – where I campaigned for Buhari, please, publish it as a journalist.”
Earlier, Sowore had also accused the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and former lawmaker, Ned Nwoko of planning to hinder him from declaring his presidential ambition.
Sowore stated this on Friday after he was released by the Nigerian Police on Thursday night.
