A gang of armed men Thursday morning targeted Nnewi South Local Government Area in Anambra State.
The secretariat was set on fire. It is yet to be ascertained if anyone died or was injured.
Anambra State Police Command says “It is a suspected case of arson”.
DSP Tochukwu Ikenga told reporters that the information “is still sketchy”.
The spokesman added that more operatives had been deployed to the area and Fire Service was contacted.
The burning is suspected to have been carried out by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
