The Lagos former deputy Governor Akinwumi Ambode’s deputy, Mrs. Idiat Adebule has been endorsed to become the next deputy governor of Lagos State.
CityNews Nigeria has exclusively learnt that the Lagos State Governors Advisory Council(GAC) which is the de facto body that runs the affairs of Lagos State has unanimously endorsed Adebule to be paired with the incumbent Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
CityNews Nigeria sources also hinted that Mrs. Idiat Adebule’s antecedents as the former deputy governor of Lagos State under His Excellency, former Governor Akinwumi Ambode and as the former commissioner for Education in Lagos State may have paved the way for her coming back as the number two citizen in the stste.
CityNews sources also informed this online medium that all is set for the process that will lead to her presentation to Lagosians as the next deputy governor of the state of excellence.
CityNews Nigeria can also exclusively report that the current deputy governor of Lagos State,Dr. Obafemi Hamzat will be compensated with a senatorial seat in the state. Other sources maintain that Hamzat is actually interested in going to the senate in order to be able to ‘stand alone’ and run his own show as an highly cerebral and erudite politician who wants to hold his own.
Let us recall that the Lagos Governors Advisory Council recently opposed the second term bid of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for reasons best known to them, but CityNews Nigeria can confirm that the GAC has thrown its weight behind the re-election of Governor Sanwo-Olu come 2023.
This is a developing story, CityNews will bring you up to speed as we gather more information on the development
