Nigeria’s president, President Muhammadu Buhari has a preferred 2023 presidential Candidate, his media chief, Femi Adesina has revealed.
Appearing on Channels TV’s Politics on Friday, Adesina disclosed that the President has a ‘favorite’ candidate.
In his words; “In a previous interview when the president was asked whether he had a favorite candidate, he answered yes; but he will not mention him because mischief may happen to that person.”
“That shows you that the president himself is interested in the process and he has a preferred candidate; but whether he will impose his candidate is what you can no determine at the moment.”
CityNews Nigeria earlier reported that 10 ministers in the President’s cabinet have resigned to contest for the exalted position. Prominent among them are Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; Minister for Niger Delta, Godswill Akpabio, Minister for Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige; Science, Technology and Innovation, Ogbonnaya Onu and Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba.
