Breaking:Terrorism Charges: IPOB Leader,Nnamdi Kanu Defeats Buhari Govt
The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has struck out the six remaining amended terrorism charges brought against the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, by the Nigerian government.
Recall that the government had earlier amended the treasonable felony charges against the IPOB leader by removing one charge out of the seven charges preferred against him.
Following this development, it is understood that Kanu has no case to answer.
Naija News recalls that the trial judge had in April struck out eight out of the 15-count treasonable felony charge levelled against Kanu.
Meanwhile, Justice Nyako has denied the bail application of the IPOB leader and asked him to apply for a new bail.
The judge said Nnamdi Kanu must account for his whereabouts for years when he was first given bail in 2017 but refused to appear in court for trial.
The court disagreed with the defendant’s claim that he fled the nation when an armed retinue raided his ancestral home in Abia State.
The trial judge also questioned the Department of State Services (DSS) on why the agency repeatedly flouted her court orders by barricading the entrance to the Federal High Court, Abuja.
