Tom Brady continues to break NFL records, even without throwing a single pass
Tom Brady continues to set records and now it was with respect to licensing contract earnings last year, as he earned $9.5 million through the NFL Players Association.
According to a report by Daniel Kaplan, which was published in The Athletic, what the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback has done is historic in terms of royalties received for this concept.
The gold mine called Tom Brady
The winner of seven Super Bowls does not stop generating money and a sample is what he has done in the last 12 months, as he received $9.5 million in income from group licensing and marketing.
Brady, 44 years old, continues to earn money just for his name and is the football player who generated the most for that concept, surpassing Patrick Mahomes, of the Kansas City Chiefs.
The report submitted by the NFL union to the U.S. Department of Labor puts Brady as the player who earned the most money for that concept, and he is the only one in the last two decades who has exceeded $4 million.
Patrick Mahomes, a distant second
Mahomes came closest, with $3.3 million, but what Brady’s name represents and what he generates in jerseys, T-shirts, collectible toys or video games is historic.
But not only that, a few weeks ago it was announced that he will earn $375 million as an analyst on U.S. television for 10 years, after reaching an agreement with Fox Sports, which will become effective when the legendary quarterback decides to retire.
What’s next for Tom Brady?
Brady, a future Hall of Famer, is just over three months away from playing his 23rd season in the NFL, his third with the Buccaneers, after announcing his retirement and then backtracking to try to win his eighth Vince Lombardi Trophy.
