War: What Zelensky said as US hands Ukraine major boost in battle with Russia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday said his country is “grateful” to United States President Joe Biden and the American people for the latest package of $450 million in military aid.
The Biden administration had on Thursday announced the additional military aid for Ukraine, with the US giving Ukraine four more multiple launch rocket systems and artillery ammunition for other systems, amid the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia.
The package, which will be drawn from existing Defense Department stocks, also includes 18 patrol boats for monitoring coasts and rivers and small arms.
Reacting, Zelensky, in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Friday, said by joint efforts, Ukrainian land will be free from the Russian aggressor.
He tweeted: “We’re grateful to [US President Joe Biden] and the American people for the decision to provide another $450 million defense aid package to Ukraine. This support, including additional HIMARS, is now more important than ever.
“By joint efforts we will free Ukrainian land from the Russian aggressor!”
Ukraine and Russia have been fighting since February this year.
As of today, many casualties have already been recorded.
