This is coming after the publicity secretary of APC in Rivers State, Chris Finebone, said Wike has the intention to work with Tinubu because he knows the APC presidential candidate would defeat the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Finebone claimed that Governor Wike is looking for a safe landing if Tinubu eventually emerges as President in 2023.
Nwuke, however, on Monday condemned the APC for linking Governor Wike with the presidential ambition of the former Governor of Lagos State.
The former lawmaker further stated that it is wrong for APC in Rivers State to interpret Governor’s Wike invitation to prominent members of the party to commission projects in the state as a means of planning to work with Tinubu.
Nwuke while speaking with Leadership said, “It is strange and whoever said that on the platform of the APC does not understand the difference between politicking and administration.
“What is coming out of the APC is distasteful; it doesn’t show maturity. It doesn’t show that whoever made that statement understands the way politics is played.
“Right now, people belong to different political parties and the fact you belong to a different political party does not mean that you don’t have friends. So, what is wrong with anyone trying to relate with his friends? Does that mean the person is making overtures? That is not correct.”
