BREAKING: Policemen Kill Motorbike Rider In Lagos, Leave With Corpse
Some policemen in the Nigeria Police Force from Oko Oba Divisional Police Station in the Ojokoro area of Lagos State on Tuesday evening reportedly shot a motorbike rider in the head and took away his corpse.
Eyewitnesses told SaharaReporters that the incident happened at Olayiwola Street, Social Club Junction in the Abule-Egba area of the state at around 7 p.m.
“Policemen shot a bike man in the head and left with the corpse, at Olayiwola street, Social Club junction, Abule-Egba.
“I passed through the place now. People actually had to stone the police officers to drive them off,” one of the eyewitnesses said.
When contacted for comment on the incident, the Divisional Police Officer of the Oko Oba Divisional Police Station, CSP Chinedu Chimereze asked our reporter if the eyewitnesses said that he was at the scene of the incident. He directed our reporter to contact the spokesperson for the state police command for the details.
“Did they say it was the DPO that killed? If such a thing has happened, the DPO was not there. If you want to get information from the police station, you find out from the PRO, not from the Divisional Police Officer. Get facts from the PRO, not from the Division,” he said.
But the Lagos State Police spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin did not reply to a text message sent to him at the time of filing this report. He also did not answer when SaharaReporters called him.
