Breaking! NBC Gives Silverbird, AIT, Raypower, Rhythm FM,Others 24 Hours To Shut Down

NBC has given  Silverbird, AIT, Raypower, Rhythm FM and others tweny-four hours to shut down operations after revoking their operational licences.

CityNews Nigeria had earlier reported that the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) said it has revoked the broadcast licences of Silverbird TV, AIT, Raypower FM, and Rhythm FM amongst others.

This online news platform understands that the Director-General of the NBC, Mallam Balarabe Shehu, who made the disclosure on Friday, August 19, 2022, said the development followed the failure of the media houses to renew their broadcast licences.

CityNews Nigeria reports that the NBC DG also directed its state offices to liaise with security agencies to ensure the shut down of the operation of the stations within the next 24 hours.
