IPOB to Ndigbo: Bury dead relations within 72 hours

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has asked residents of the Southeast to bury their dead ones within three days to avert what it called ancestral curses.

It said it has been discovered that keeping corpses in the mortuary for too long is the bane of Ndigbo in all material circumstances.

 

In a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, IPOB said it was not the culture of the Igbo to keep corpses for a long time before burial.

It insisted that bereaved families should be allowed to commit their dead ones to mother earth while a date for the burial ceremony could be fixed for a later date.

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has slammed Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State’s claim that he stopped the sit-at-home order in the state.

However, IPOB faulted Uzodinma,saying could not stop the sit-at-home order because he never initiated it.

Emma Powerful, the spokesperson of IPOB, said the group cancelled the sit-at-home order on the advice of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho, has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s remark that millions of Nigerians were killed during the Biafra civil war to ensure the country’s unity.

Igboho warned that such large-scale killing would never be allowed to happen again in Nigeria.

Buhari had urged political leaders to stay focused and uphold the ultimate objective of promoting the interest of the country.

He stressed that the country can’t afford another civil war.

Reacting, Igboho, in a statement by his spokesman, Olayomi Koiki, said: “We know President Muhammadu Buhari is the Patron of all the Fulani worldwide. But Yoruba land can never be conquered by Fulani.

“President Muhammadu Buhari was reminding Nnamdi Kanu and the Igbos of the massacre they carried out during the Biafra War. The President should know that this can never be repeated again in any of our land.

Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu remains our leader – IPOB clears air on Edoziem’s role

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has clarified that Nnamdi Kanu has not been replaced as its leader.

IPOB has now urged its followers to ignore the reports that Kanu has been replaced by Mazi Chika Edoziem, describing it as “fabricated media propaganda”.

This was contained in a statement by the group’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, on Tuesday.

According to Powerful, Edoziem is the head of the IPOB Directorate of State and not IPOB Acting Leader.

The statement read in part, “We, the global movement and family of IPOB under the command and leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, condemn the useless and fabricated media propaganda and blackmail from some media houses that IPOB has another or acting leader replacing our indefatigable liberator and prophet Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

“Those peddling this kind of lies are those criminals who zoo gutter media are publishing this to confuse the weak-minded people.

“We want everybody to bear in mind that Mazi Chika Edoziem is the head of IPOB Directorate of State and not IPOB Acting Leader.

“There was never a time that Emma Powerful, the Publicity Secretary of IPOB issued any statement purporting that our Leader had been replaced by Mazi Chika Edoziem as IPOB Acting Leader.”

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday told separatists that Nigeria will remain one nation.

“Our main objective is the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We are human beings. We have our weaknesses, but I can assure you that the patriotism in us is hard earned,” Buhari said.

No Biafran govt in exile — IPoB

THE Indigenous People of Biafra, IPoB, yesterday, described the purported Biafra Government in exile as a ruse that should be ignored.

IPOB also said that the group, as led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has not set up any government in exile and, therefore, dissociated itself completely from the purported government, saying that IPoB has legitimate and well-established institutions and well-structured administrative hierarchy that oversees its day-to-day running of Biafra affairs.

A statement by IPoB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, stated that the world already knows about IPoB’s agitation and they communicate with IPoB, as the responsible authority that oversees the affairs of the Biafran people, be it nationally or internationally, adding that all diplomatic missions and countries of the world know about Biafra.

IPoB’s statement read “We, the global movement and noble family of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPoB, under Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, wish to reiterate once again to Biafrans, friends of Biafra, and lovers of freedom across the globe that IPoB led by Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu, has not set up any Government In Exile, GIE. We, therefore, dissociate ourselves completely from the purported Government in Exile.
