Lagos parallel market (black market dollar to naira exchange rate today)
The local currency opened at N710.00 per $1 at the parallel market otherwise known as the black market, today, Monday, September 12, 2022, in Lagos Nigeria after it closed at N706.00 per $1 on Sunday, September 11, 2022. This represents a change in N4 from the previous day.
Even though the dollar to naira opened in the parallel market at ₦710 per $1 today, Newsone reports that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not recognise the parallel market, otherwise known as the black market. The apex bank has therefore directed anyone who requires forex to approach their bank, insisting that the I&E window is the only known exchange.
Newsone Nigeria reports that in the black market, the players buy a dollar for N707 and sell for N710 on Monday, September 12, 2022, after they bought N703 and sold for N706 on Sunday, September 11, 2022. This means the exchange rate changed its position from the previous day.
Meanwhile, Newsone Nigeria reports that the USD started this week at ₦710 in Parallel Market also known as Black Market on Monday, September 12, 2022, in Lagos Nigeria, after it opened at ₦702 last week Monday, September 5, 2022.
