2023: Tinubu’s Goal Is To Win Election, Not Spiting Christians- Hannatu Musawa
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Organization, Deputy Spokesperson, Hannatu Musawa, has said the goal of the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, is to win the 2023 election and not to spite Christians with his choice of Kashim Shettima as vice-presidential candidate.
CityNews reports that Hannatu Musawa said it would be unfair for the Christian community to see the choice Tinubu made in choosing Shettima former governor of Borno State as neglect or insult to the voting Christian public.
While admitting that the Christian voters have the right to feel annoyed and not included in the APC and Tinubu’s choice of vice-presidential candidate, Tinubu will give all Nigerians good governance when elected.
Musawa who stated this in an interview with a national daily, on Monday, added that as campaign Council they have taken it upon themselves to reach out to the Christian communities to ensure proper explanation.
Musawa said, “If you talk about the issue of representation, I mean I understand why a Christian would feel sort of marginalized by this. With that, we have to give that particular community an understanding that their feeling on this matter is valid. There’s no doubt they have valid concerns about why there is a Muslim on the ticket.”
She added, “But what we try to do, as a campaign council, is to reach out to this community with a hand of friendship to help them understand that we know that it wasn’t like to besmirch or marginalize the Christian community. It had nothing to do with that.”
