The presidential campaign council of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been set up by the National Working Committee (NWC).
PDP national organising secretary, Umar Bature, confirmed this in a document released late Thursday night.
Udom Emmanuel, governor of Akwa Ibom, was named as the chairman of the campaign council; while Aminu Tambuwal, governor of Sokoto, was appointed as the director-general.

All PDP governors are among the members of the presidential campaign council, including Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers state.
Ike Ekweremadu, former senate president, who is standing trial in the UK over alleged organ harvesting, is also a member of the council.
Other members of the campaign council include Liyel Imoke, former governor of Cross River, as deputy director-general of operations; Adewale Oladipo as deputy director-general, administration; Raymond Dokpesi as deputy director-general, technical and systems; and Okwesilieze Nwodo, as deputy director-general, research and strategy.
