King Charles III’s sincere response to UK prime minister Liz Truss that has gone viral
On May 6, 2023, Charles III will be officially crowned King of England at Westminster Abbey in London. In the meantime, the monarch continues to attend to his agenda and in one of his last official acts he received Liz Truss.
In the UK prime minister’s visit at Buckingham Palace, a curious moment took place that has gone viral on social media.
Charles III’s phrase
The video was shared by ITV News’ Chris Ship on Twitter and it shows Charles III waiting in one of the halls of the royal building. At one point, Truss arrives to have the weekly meeting with the monarch, whom she greets according to the protocol.
“Your Majesty, lovely to see you again,” Truss said.
The scene seems most ordinary, but it is Charles III’s sincere and direct response that has made the video viral.
“Back again. Dear oh dear. Anyway,” said Charles.
Among the responses, there are those who defend the spontaneity of Charles III despite his position and those who question his “desire” to exercise his duties after the death of Elizabeth II last September.
Be that as it may, the countdown to the coronation of Charles III is already underway. It will be the first coronation to take place in England in more than 70 years.
