Former Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has advised Nigerians not to vote for any politician who says things are going to be easy in Nigeria.
According to the former Central Bank Governor, the person that will become Nigeria’s president in 2023 will have to take painful decisions to be able to address the various challenges facing the country.
Sanusi stated this today while speaking to Nigerians in Kaduna at KadInvest, an annual event organised by the Kaduna State Investment Promotion Agency.
In his words;
“Anybody who tells you that it’s going to be easy, please don’t vote for him. It is either that he is lying to you or that he does not know what job he is going to get.
You cannot with this level of debt service, with this level of collapse in revevue, with this level of poverty. And you have to take curative decisions.”
Speaking on the need to stop the inflation of figures going on in government, Sanusi said that whoever will become Nigeria’s president in 2023 should ask the NNPC to document and bring evidence of every dollar they took as subsidy.
Bola Tinubu, Nasir El-Rufai and other eminent Nigerians attended the event.
