EPL: The lie that Haaland slipped into Milner: “It’s disappointing…”
Erling Haaland was born in Leeds on July 21, 2000, coinciding with his father Alf-Inge’s stage at Elland Road. Shortly after, on November 10, 2002, the eternal James Milner (Leeds, 4-1-1986) became the second youngest footballer (16 years and 309 days) to debut in the Premier League.
When Haaland and Milner crossed paths for the first time on October 2, 2019, coinciding with a Liverpool-Salzburg (4-3) in the Champions League group stage, the young Erling ran to James and whispered: “Leeds, Leeds, Leeds.”
A scene that was repeated in Liverpool’s victory over Manchester City (1-0) . “We had a little conversation about Leeds, yes ,” Milner confirmed to ‘Via Play’ after the game.
We had a little talk about the Leeds, yeah
Milner, however, took the opportunity to ‘uncover’ the white lie that Haaland slipped him in his first attack. “I can confirm that he told me he was going to sign for Leeds a few years ago and obviously he was lying. It’s disappointing!!!” , joked the ‘7’ of Liverpool.
I can confirm that he told me he was going to sign for Leeds a few years ago and obviously he was lying. It’s disappointing!!!
