The special assistant to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar on public communication, Phrank Shaibu has said Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is not fit to contest the 2023 presidential election.

He urged the former Lagos State Governor who is the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to go home and rest.

According to him, Tinubu is sick and weak, noting that a sick country can’t be handed over to a sick President.

CityNews reports Shaibu made the submission in a statement on Sunday against the background of the error made by Tinubu while speaking on Saturday at the 7th edition of Kaduna Economic and Investment Summit (KADInvest 7.0) when he said the state Governor, Nasir El-Rufai “turned a rotten situation to a bad one.”

Atiku’s aide in his reactional statement however said the comment by Tinubu is a gaffe too many and a sign of worse things to come.

He, therefore, warned Nigerians against voting for the APC candidate as the country can’t be handed over to a sick president.

Shuaibu said: “When you look at the APC presidential candidate, you will see someone that is tired and weak. You have also heard the many gaffes that have come from him even before the kick-off of campaigns.

“The Kaduna comment is one gaffe, too many, and therefore unpardonable. You don’t have to be president at all costs; when you are tired, you go home.

“Nigeria is currently in a dire situation with every sector of the economy in deep decay; therefore, the nation cannot afford to hand over a sick nation to a sick president.”

Shuaibu noted that Nigeria deserves a fit leader to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari but the pointers suggest Tinubu is unhealthy and should therefore not force his desperation to be President on Nigerians.
