#Anikulapo: Kunle Afolayan Reveals Why He Featured Eyiyemi As Princess Omowunmi

Popular actor and movie director, Kunle Afolayan, has given reasons why he cast his daughter Eyiyemi Afolayan, who played the role of princess Omowunmi in his recent movie Anikulapo.

According to the movie producer, the role of Princess Omowunmi required a beautiful young lady and that was what got his daughter into the movie’s cast because she is certainly beautiful.

CityNews Nigeria reports that Afolayan who posted a short video clip of himself and his daughter on his Instagram handle wrote: “If you want to portray the role of a princess, I think there is no given that the person has to be beautiful and she is beautiful.

“It felt good because I did not have to pay her, even though I was paying her directly or indirectly.”

Afolayan, who revealed his daughter also had good singing prowess, said in a statement issued by Kunle Afolayan Productions that “train up a child in the way he should go so that when he is old he won’t depart from it. It is obvious that Kunle Afolayan takes it upon himself to imbibe valuable teachings in his children. Everyone attests to how respectful they are and humble regardless of their father’s societal status.

“Not only is Eyiyemi Afolayan natural at acting, but her father also attests to the fact that she sings well too, just like her brother Diekoloreoluwa Afolayan – Kunle Afolayan’s second child and first son.”

Eyiyemi, who made her debut appearance as an actor on the set of Anikulapo, was also reported to have said her role as princess Omowunmi in the movie showed a gullible princess who looked foolish.

“Omowunmi is very foolish because Saro never proposed love to her but she already started having ideas in her head. She is beautiful no doubt, but also gullible,” Eyiyemi said.

Meanwhile, Naija News reported that Afolayan’s Anikulapo, a Netflix original movie Production, topped the Netflix weekly global chart as the most-viewed non-English Netflix original movie last week.
