The French newspaper Le Parisien has revealed this Sunday more details about the mega-contract that PSG signed for Kylian Mbappé last May and with which he was committed for the next two seasons plus an optional one . Some astronomical figures that make this contract the highest ever seen in sport.

Kylian Mbappé would collect a total of 630 million euros in case of fulfilling the 2 + 1 campaigns (until June 2025) signed months ago in the middle of the soap opera with his contract ending and his possible departure to Real Madrid . But that exorbitant amount is divided into several important parts.

  • Salary of 72 million euros gross per season
  • Signing bonus of 180 million to renew (divided into three installments)
  • Loyalty bonus: if you don’t leave in 2023, you will earn 70 ‘kilos’, if you don’t in 2024 you will earn 80 and if you don’t in 2025, you will earn 90 .

Contract figures that far exceed those of Lionel Messi, whose last renewal with Barcelona in 2017 represented a total amount of 555 million euros, as announced exclusively by El Mundo in 2021 .

With this signature, Messi secured 138 million per season between fixed and variable , with two separate premiums . One, to renew, of 115,225,000 euros and another, in concept of ‘loyalty’ with the club, which amounts to 77,929,955 euros

Apart from surpassing the contract that Josep María Bartomeu signed for the Argentine star when he was wearing the Barça shirt, Mbappé also surpasses Neymar Junior ‘s first contract with PSG in 2017 . That was the most expensive signing in the history of football after paying the Brazilian’s termination clause, which was 222 million euros.

After changing LaLiga for Ligue 1, Neymar secured a total of 267 million euros in six years (until 2023). Below, other mega-contracts were Cristiano Ronaldo ‘s with Juventus, Gareth Bale ‘s with Real Madrid in 2016 and Pogba ‘s when he returned to Manchester United in the summer of 2016.

Disgusted with PSG

This information has come to light just 12 days after the information from MARCA in which it was explained that Kylian Mbappé was very upset with PSG and that he wanted to leave the Parisian team as soon as possible, if possible in January.

In the following hours, Le Parisien itself, surely the media closest to PSG, followed this line: ” The impact was great and the denials of Luis Campos and Christophe Galtier did little to put out the fire and above all they did not calm the anger of Mbappé against Nasser Al Khelaïfi and his unfulfilled promises”.
