CityNews Nigeria recalls that the clergyman’s convoy which was attacked on Friday by unidentified gunmen had resulted in the death of seven persons.
The incident occurred on Warake Road, close to Auchi, Edo State.
According to an audio interview with Sahara Reporters, a sister to one of the deceased policr officers alleged that her family members went to the home of the clergyman but were not allowed to gain entrance, adding that Suleman also did not come out to meet with them.
She said, “Even my aunty, our firstborn; they went there (to see him). They didn’t even allow them to enter. He didn’t even come out to see them. He didn’t come out to see them.
“He (her brother) only has one son and his wife is a policewoman. They are in Edo state.
“My elder sister and my brother, they went there (to see him). We are 12; my father has 12 children. We lost one in the process of protecting Suleman. He did not even come out. My sister and my brother that went, they had to come back home because he didn’t come out to see them.”
