Lewis Hamilton Reveals “Alonso And I Have Different Values”
Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso are, without a doubt, the most popular drivers in current F1. Their relationship since they shared a team at McLaren in 2007 has caused rivers of ink to run, especially for that controversial World Cup that ended with the title… of Kimi Raikkonen and Ferrari. Later, they separated their paths and have no longer coincided in any team. The Spaniard did not win any more titles and the Briton prevailed with McLaren in 2008 and, later, he signed for Mercedes to drive one of the most dominant single-seaters in the history of Formula 1. He has seven crowns.
The two have respected each other quite a bit in their statements over the years, although there have been episodes in which the controversy has been inflamed, like this very course, when they had a clash in Spa and the Oviedo ended up calling the Englishman an “idiot” on the radio. After several answers, everything was settled with Fernando visiting the ‘hospitality’ of the star brand, talking to Lewis… and sealing the peace with a cap .
Now, the two are veterans who, on top of that, intend to continue a few more years in the Great Circus. Alonso left in 2018, but returned in 2021 with Alpine and has signed with Aston Martin at the age of 41. Hamilton is already 37 years old, but is negotiating a multi-year contract with the Germans.

In an interview in ‘Auto motor und sport’, the seven-time champion compared the reasons why he intends to continue in F1 with those of the Spaniard. ” We have very different personalities with different values . I admire Fernando for his tenacity , because it costs you a lot to come back. But he still hasn’t organized his life after this. Me, yes. I could stop running today and have many other things to support myself.” busy. I’m staying because I love working on this team. You’ll have to put up with me a little longer.”
Tewin’s also compared his off-track activities to those of Sebastian Vettel . “They are similar, not the same,” he refers to his social struggles.
Then, he explains himself by saying why he wants to continue and not withdraw, like the Teuton. “I don’t base my decisions on what others are doing. I admire Seb’s decision. But he’s in a different situation than me. He has kids; I don’t have a family, so I ‘m still 100 percent committed.I can imagine that it is more difficult with a family because you have to sacrifice a lot of what is important to you. I don’t have to make any sacrifices in the relationship with F1. Of course my parents are, but I’m working on improving that. Seb and I are on a different path in life. Will I continue driving when I am over 40 years old? Maybe. Mercedes and I will extend the contract. We will sit down in the next two months. I have been with Mercedes now since I was 13 years old. This is my family,” he says.
