Prince Harry: Markle And Harry Foundation Donates To Flood Victims In Nigeria
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle have been reported to have made donations to flood victims in Nigeria.
The royals were alleged to have paid an undisclosed amount to UNICEF and Save the Children to be used as a relief to affected persons ravaged by the flood crisis in some parts of the country.
CityNews reports that the Daily Mail UK quoted a press release from a Spotify representative, who disclosed that the Markle and Harry’s Archewell Foundation made donations to both UNICEF and Save the Children.
They said the donations would “help provide relief following devastating floods wreaking havoc in Nigeria.”
It will be recalled that in the last few weeks, some parts of the country have experienced flooding that has left thousands dead and millions displaced as a result of the effect of the natural disaster.
Meanwhile, the donation comes after Markle’s revelation that she is 43 % Nigerian.
Naija News had earlier reported that the Duchess of Sussex, had disclosed that her genealogy test showed that she is 43% Nigerian.
According to her, she just had her genealogy test done a few years ago and it revealed that she is 43% Nigerian.
Naija News reports that the Duchess of Sussex, who was opening up on her genetic heritage for the first time, disclosed the information to American actress Issa Rae, Nigerian-American writer Ziwe Fumudoh, and professor Emily Bernards, who were her guest in the latest episode of her podcast, Archetypes.
Markle in a Mirrors report told her guest on the Archetypes that it was her desire to learn more about her roots.
She said, “I just had my genealogy done a couple of years ago.”
When her guests asked her to share what the results entailed, the Duchess said, “I’m 43% Nigerian,” to the shock of Ziwe, who responded, “No way!”.
The podcast revelation was the first time Meghan opened up about her ancestral background to the public.
