2023: Nigerians Cannot Afford To Have Another Incapacitated President – LP To Tinubu
The Labour Party (LP) Presidential Campaign Council has said Nigerians cannot afford to have another incapacitated President in 2023.
The Chief Spokesperson of the LP Presidential Campaign Council, Yunusa Tanko, said this on Tuesday while reacting to the statements credited to the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, and his running mate, Kashim Shettima.
CityNews earlier reported that Tinubu, at a meeting with business leaders and the organized private sector on Tuesday, said the LP Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is not fit to lead the country and has no experience for the top job.
Also speaking at the meeting, Shettima said Obi is only known for spewing dubious statistics and showcasing a mediocre performance as the Governor of Anambra State.
However, in an interview with The Punch, Tanko said the country cannot have another president that will be going out of the country for a medical check-up every fortnight.
The LP chieftain asserted that Nigerians cannot afford to have someone full of lies and criminal records in power, saying that the APC is full of liars and criminals.
Tanko added that the ruling party IS just afraid that LP has a capable, consistent, and hardworking individual as its presidential candidate.
He said, “As far as the Labour Party is concerned, we cannot have a repetition of another eight years of an incapacitated president. We cannot afford to have somebody that will be going out of the country for a medical check-up every fortnight. It cannot be possible.
“We cannot afford to have someone full of lies and criminal records in power. Nigerians cannot afford to have the same Old Order again. They (APC) are just afraid that we have a capable, consistent, and hardworking individual on our side.”
