Breaking: Adeleye Resigns As Spokesperson For Ilana Omo Oodua
Maxwell Adeleye has announced his withdrawal from being the spokesperson of Ilana Omo Oodua (IOO) Worldwide.
CityNews understands that the Communications Secretary of the Yoruba self-determination group made his intention known on Thursday in a letter addressed to the leader of IOO, Professor Banji Akintoye.
While stating in the terse statement that his resignation is immediate, Adeleye said it is more honourable to leave everything to God, not disclosing further his reason for resigning.
The letter reads: “I write to notify you of my resignation as Communications Secretary, Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide with immediate effect.
My dear Baba Alana, you and I and Almighty God knows why I chose to throw in the towel. It is more honourable to leave everything to God, posterity and history to judge than go into hullabaloo or brouhaha with you.”
It was all joy for the embattled Yoruba freedom fighter, Sunday Adeniyi Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, on Tuesday after bagging an honorary doctorate degree.
Naija News reports that Igboho, who could not contain his joy, took to his social media page to share photos of himself and other Yoruba leaders celebrating his latest achievement.
Igboho was honoured with the academic excellence certificate by the Triune Biblical University, a varsity based in Brooklyn, New York, the United States.
He shared the certificate and a series of photos taken from the event on his Instagram page late Tuesday. The certificate issued to Igboho had on it a Doctorate of peace and security management/International Relations with Specialization in War/Conflict and Peace Studies.
He captioned: “Congratulations to me as I was conferred Doctor of peace and security management/international relations with a specialization in war/conflict and peace studies from Triune Biblical University, USA.”
It’s such an honour to know that the Yoruba nation’s efforts are not in vain,” Igboho added in his caption.
Present at the conferment of the academic excellence is the leader of the Yoruba self-determination movement, Banji Akintoye; vice chairman of the Yoruba self-determination movement, Banji Ayiloge; vice chairman of Ilana Omo Odua, Wale Adeniran, and the publicity director of YSDM, Titi Aboyade Cole, Naija News understands.
