Champions League last-16 draw: Teams PSG, Chelsea, Real Madrid, others could face
Chelsea faces the prospect of facing Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League round of 16 following the conclusion of the group stage fixtures on Wednesday.
The Blues finished top of Group E after beating Dinamo Zagreb 2-1 at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
Graham Potter’s side could face PSG in the last-16 after the French Ligue 1 champions finished runner-up in Group H.
PSG appeared to be on course to finish top of their group, but Benfica’s 6-1 win away to Maccabi Haifa means that Christophe Galtier’s side have been forced to settle for the runners-up spot.
Also, PSG could also face Manchester City or Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League last-16 draw after a dramatic late twist on Wednesday evening as both Premier League clubs finished top in their respective Groups.
Elsewhere, Real Madrid finished top of Group F and joined the likes of Bayern Munich, Napoli and FC Porto in the seeded pot for the draw.
The Los Blancos could meet the likes of Liverpool, Club Bruges, Inter Milan, Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli, while Tottenham could face Borussia Dortmund, Club Brugge, Inter Milan plus Group E, F and H runners-up.
However, among the unseeded teams for the round of 16 draw are Liverpool, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund.
All English Premier League clubs will avoid each other in the Champions League round of 16 as no sides from the same nation can be paired together in the draw.
The Champions League round of 16 draw will take place on November 7.
