2023: Adebanjo Insists On Supporting Peter Obi’s Presidential Ambition, Ignores Tinubu

The acting leader of Afenifere, Ayo Adebanjo has insisted on his support for the presidential ambition of the Labour Party flagbearer, Peter Obi.

Adebanjo on Thursday called on youths in the country to make sure that Obi takes over from President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023 at the end of his tenure.

He further stated that the move to make Obi the next president of Nigeria would not be easy as the currently ruling party would not want to leave.

Adebanjo made this call while speaking at the official public presentation of the book titled, “Challenges of Good Governance and Leadership in Nigeria: The Peter Obi Factor,” by the Alaigbo Development Foundation (ADF).

Adebanjo emphasized his support for Obi amidst Reuben Fasoranti’s support for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.

The Afenifere leader said those in power would do everything possible to remain in power, to continue oppressing them.

Adebanjo in his desire for Obi to emerge winner in 2023 urged youths to embark on a massive reorientation of their supporters to stay away from selling their votes.

He said, “You must show them that their money is useless. Prepare your minds not to be bought with their money. Make their money useless with your positive action. Don’t let them continue to say that you don’t have structures. You will sweep them out with their brooms. Ensure that all eligible voters go to the poll on Election Day to vote and protect their votes.”

Adebanjo who described himself as an embittered old man said he has found in Obi, a young man that would cool him down for a better tomorrow.

He added that youths in 2023 are voting for Obi to change their lives and future and not to be president of Nigeria.

The Afenifere chieftain stated, “I am here to support any cause that will make Obi the next president of Nigeria. We want to change the system that celebrates and retains corruption. Young people must make themselves available on Election Day. They must mark every polling station/booth with dependable obedient followers; show them that you mean business.”
