2023 Presidency: APC addresses claims that US denied Bola Tinubu visa
The All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential Campaign Council, has debunked speculations that the United States of America has denied its presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu a visa.
Festus Keyamo, the spokesman of the Tinubu/Shettima campaign council, argued that the rumour was the handiwork of mischief makers.
The Minister of State for Labour and Employment said the rumours that Tinubu was denied a visa were unfounded.
Keyamo issued the clarification in a tweet while sharing Tinubu’s international passport.
He wrote: “For mischief-makers who peddle unfounded rumours about @officialABAT being denied a visa to the US, you leave us with no option but to show you his current visa (that has always been renewed since time immemorial). This is for the misguided ones who believe these rumours.”
The rumours came to the limelight following Tinubu’s rescheduled foreign trips.
He was scheduled to travel to the US, London, France, and other European countries as part of his campaign.
The campaign council said Tinubu’s trip was scheduled to start on December 4th.
Meanwhile, the Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, also claimed Tinubu only postponed his trip to the US.
Kalu stressed that the US did not deny Tinubu a visa, adding that he would be in America in the third week of December.
He noted that the APC presidential candidate would be warmly welcomed in the US.
