The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar on Tuesday, made a mistake while addressing supporters of the party in Jos, Plateau State.
CityNews Nigeria had earlier reported that the main opposition party held its presidential rally at the Rwang Pam township stadium in Jos. The former vice president while concluding his speech in Hausa said, “For God’s sake and for the value of this place, ensure that you vote for A… I mean PDP this time around.” Atiku in his statement on Tuesday also vowed that peace will return to the state if PDP emerges the winner in the 2023 elections. He said, “Yesterday, when we finished with Nasarawa successfully, I was told ‘let’s go back to Abuja’, and I said I won’t go back to Abuja because here is also my home and I have a house here.
We came and slept in it. “What I want you to understand is that we’ve made a promise that if you vote for PDP, which I’m sure you would, we promise to bring back peace in Plateau. “We will bring development in Plateau, especially for the youths who are the ones I’m seeing here mostly.
All of you, men and women, we will ensure that we boost the economy of Plateau state so that jobs and business opportunities will be provided. “This is a promise we have made to you. Also, most of your roads, we are aware of their bad condition because the government of the APC hasn’t done anything about it for the past eight years. “We promise to fix the roads. Therefore, people of Plateau, just as this place has its history, in this place we voted MKO Abiola; in this place, we voted Olusegun Obasanjo; we voted for different presidents in this place.”
