PHOTOS: FIRS, NNPC Inspect Roads Under Road Infrastructure Tax Credit Scheme

Executive Chairman FIRS, Muhammad Nami, on Thursday joined the Group CEO NNPC Limited, Mele Kolo Kyari on a visitation exercise to the Bida-Lapai-Lambata Road which is being reconstructed by the NNPC under the Road Infrastructure Tax Credit Scheme.

The visit was graced by the Etsu Nupe, HRH Alh. Yahaya Abubakar, as well as the Etsu Agaie and the Etsu Lapai; they were appreciative of the efforts of the FG in rehabilitating these critical roads for the benefit of their communities, travelers and transporters.

These roads are major arteries for the transportation of petroleum products. The NNPC, under the Road Infrastructure Tax Credit Scheme is funding the reconstruction/ rehabilitation/ construction of 21 critical roads across the 6-geopolitical zones of the country.

During the visit, Mr Muhammad Nami thanked taxpayers such as NNPC Limited for keying into the Road Infrastructure Tax Credit Scheme. He noted that this particular road was last constructed 40 years ago, and until this intervention was in a dire state.

Mr. Nami also called on other taxpayers to key into the Executive Order 007 Scheme.

The FIRS Team, in another leg of visitation exercises to road project sites being carried out by the NNPC Limited under the Road Infrastructure Tax Credit Scheme, also joined the Group CEO of NNPC Limited, Mr. Mele Kyari to pay an inspection visit to the Lagos—Badagry Expressway (Agbara Junction-Nigeria/Benin Border).

The 65km Expressway is being rehabilitated and expanded under the Road Infrastructure Tax Credit Scheme by the NNPC.
