The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Cross River State, Prof. Sandy Onor has come out to express optimism about the end of the ongoing crisis rocking the party’s leadership.

Onor said he was sure that the reconciliation between the party’s flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar and the five aggrieved governors of the party, aka the G5 governors led by the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike would pull through before the 2023 general election.

According to him, it’s the hope of every right-thinking member of the PDP that very soon the Wike-led camp would settle with Atiku’s camp because they are open for reconciliation.

Onor, who is an ally of Wike, made the pronouncement at Ikom in Cross River State on Sunday, noting that they are currently handling the reconciliation process, and he does not want to be pessimistic about it. He said “Wike’s camp will soon settle any disagreements they had with Atiku. Even the Atiku camp is also saying they are ready for reconciliation. We hope that reconciliation will happen soon. “Every right-thinking PDP person is looking forward to that reconciliation.” Naija News also gathered that the PDP chieftain spoke about the issue of BVAS, as he described those asking for it to be cancelled as criminals.

He claimed that all kinds of pressures have been put on Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to drop the BVAS to which they have objected. Onor submitted that “Those canvassing for BVAS to be dropped are criminals, electoral criminals who should hide their faces in shame. “BVAS has come to stay and we are very happy with INEC because INEC has insisted on its use. “We are going to be BVAS compliant and that is where our confidence is hinged.”
