BREAKING: Twin-explosion rocks APC rally in Port Harcourt [PHOTOS]

A twin explosion on Thursday afternoon left three persons injured at a rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Rumu-Woji Playground, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

CITYNEWS NIGERIA learned that no fewer than three persons, mostly women, were injured in the incident that occurred. Those hurt have been rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

The cause of the explosion was sketchy as of the time of publishing this report.

A source said: “The explosion came with a loud bang and some persons were injured.”

“The party officials had altercation with the youths of the community over access to the venue of the rally before the explosion occurred.”

The Publicity Secretary of the APC, Darlington Nwauju, confirmed the incident, describing it as ‘unfortunate’.

Efforts to get comments from the Police spokesperson in the state, Iringe-Koko, were unsuccessful.
