Breaking: Tribunal Kicks Out Ademola Adeleke As Governor Of Osun State
The Osun Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has delivered judgement in a suit filed by former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola against incumbent Governor, Ademola Adeleke.
CityNews Nigeria recalls that former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola is challenging the victory of Ademola Adeleke during the 2022 Osun gubernatorial election on July 16th 2022, alleging infractions in 749 polling units and certificate forgery.
The sitting of the Tribunal has commenced at exactly 9:10 am for judgement winded up around 12:0 noon and the jury ruled in favour of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The counsel representing Oyetola, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), and Akin Olujinmi (SAN), insisted that Adeleke did not win the majority of lawful votes and should not have been declared the winner of the election.
They also said there were inconsistencies in the certificates presented by Adeleke.
