2023 Presidency: Tinubu Has Nothing To Fear – VON DG, Okechukwu
The Director-General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), Osita Okechukwu, has restated his backing the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The APC chieftain gave his reason while speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Monday.
According to Okechukwu, the 2023 election is for the APC to lose, adding that Tinubu, a former Lagos State governor, has nothing to fear.
He said, ”Do not forget that we still control the greatest structure of 176,846 polling units. Some of us are working down at the ward level.
“Do you think I want to lose my little office as the DG of Voice of Nigeria? I am working day and night to get APC at my ward to scale, as also other appointees. Out of 469 members of the national assembly, we have the majority. That is why I am telling them there is no need to overdrive. The election is for us to win – Asiwaju has nothing to fear; that is my position.
“We have all the apparatus for winning an election any day, anytime.”
Speaking further, Okechukwu urged the party’s governors to remain calm amidst the naira redesign policy introduced by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
He reminded the governors that Atiku Abubakar who has more money than their principal, Bola Tinubu has chosen to remain calm despite the policy.
Okechukwu, who was reacting to Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai’s decision to kick against the new monetary policy by President Muhammadu Buhari administration said that the APC Governors meeting held on Sunday had put everything to rest.
