The revered clergyman dropped the admonition on Friday evening less than twenty-four hours before the scheduled presidential and National Assembly elections in Nigeria.
He said as bonafide Nigerians, the people of the country must not refuse to vote because it is their civic duty. Adeboye added that anybody that refuses to vote should not complain about the government in power.
While some had been expecting Pastor Adeboye to give specific instructions on who to vote for, the RCCG General Overseer simply wrote #MakeYourVoteCount and shared a video of himself saying his assignment does not involve anything that has to do with partisan politics and told people not to distract him.
Pastor Adeboye declared that he has never given any instruction for his followers to vote for a particular candidate or political party and will never say it because every party is heavily represented in RCCG.
He said his assignment is to pray for people and pray for Nigeria.
According to the popular pastor, he is the father of all and the only reason he has not voted during elections is because if he votes for a particular party or candidate, he would be unjust to his other children that belong to other political parties.
