Bola Tinubu’s Victory: Peter Obi’s Next Line Of Action Revealed
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has lost the just concluded elections to the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
CityNews Nigeria reports that the result of the election was read by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Professor Yakubu Mahmud, at about 4:05 am after the Resident Electoral Commissioners, RECs and the State Collation Officer of Election, SCOPE, from the 36 states and the FCT had presented their results and reports.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu polled 8,794,726 to defeat Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, who came second and third, respectively.
Giving his victory acceptance speech this morning, Tinubu thanked all those who participated in Saturday’s election with particular mention of ‘Articulated,’ ‘Obidients,’ ‘Batified,’ and ‘Kwankwasiyya’ supporters.
He said: “Whether you are BATified, Atikulated, Obidients, or Kwankwasiyya, I must thank you for working hard to straighten our democratic system.”
Following Tinubu’s victory, Naija News reached out to a top aide of Peter Obi on the next line of action of the Labour Party’s candidate.
Our source disclosed that Peter Obi is getting set to address Nigerians on the outcome of the presidential election formally.
Asked if his principal has reacted to Tinubu’s victory, he said: “None yet, but he soon will.”
