In this exclusive interview with Kemi Filani, Kemi Sodeinde, the executive producer of ENOCH, opens up on the inspiration behind the movie and more.
Read the excerpts below:
Let’s meet you ma.
My name is Oluwakemi Sodeinde
The executive producer of the movie, Enoch. I run a media production company called Solid Rock Foundation and we produce only Christian movies.
-How long have you been a filmmaker?
I started producing gospel
Movies in 2020
-What prompted you to go into filmmaking?
It was during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Lord told me to retreat and spend time with Him for the next stage of my life and ministry, and not to be distracted by the news and focus on what He was saying at the time.
It was during this time of seeking the face of God that I was lead again to do a course in Christian Drama Ministry, which I did and that was how the journey began.
-What was the motivation to shoot Enoch?
It was in September 2020, after our annual Women’s convention that I got the inspiration to produce a biopic movie on Pastor E.Adeboye and I approached Daddy GO with my intentions, and in 2021 he gave me written approval, to go ahead to produce the movie.
Can you describe how you felt when you received the approval to shoot the movie?
It was an assurance that indeed the inspiration was from God. That God indeed is faithful to His words and that when He gives an assignment He will see to it that He brings it to pass.
-How long did it take you to research and make the film?
It took the team about six months.
-What challenges did you face on the set of Enoch?
This is the biggest movie ever produced and first movie shot completely in Nigeria and involved moving to different locations.
It was a very good experience, good teamwork and a lot to learn from shooting a biopic like this.
-How has it been navigating your path as a producer?
It’s been a lot to take on but also a learning curve for me.
-What has been the push to keep doing what you do?
The number of souls we are able to reach through movies is far more than going on evangelism, preaching in church or missions. It’s a global audience with more souls to reach.
-How do you juggle between your career and filmmaking?
Film making is a ministry and a spiritual mandate to reach the world through gospel movie. I am coping well.
-Where do you see yourself in the in 5 years?
I see myself reaching more souls through gospel movies and seeing Solid Rock Foundation becoming a household name and people looking forward to movies from our stables.
-What’s your anticipation about ENOCH?
