Military Reacts, Gives Update On Naval Officers Who Attacked Delta Police Station

An investigation has commenced regarding the action of some Naval officers who invaded a Police Station in Delta State and beat up an officer.

As earlier reported by CityNews Nigeria , some officers of the Nigerian Navy had reportedly attacked the Enerhen Divisional Police Station in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to the video of the incident which is trending online, a naval officer beat up a police sergeant during the incident with the Police officer simply identified as Kingsley from the video seen with a bloodied eye.

During further confrontation between officers of the two security agencies, one of the policemen threatened to open a teargas canister on the Navy man.

However, according to Punch when contacted, the spokesperson for the Nigerian NavyAdedotun Ayo-Vaughan, said the naval officials have been arrested and in detention.

He said, “Good morning. They have been arrested and detained for quick investigation and strict disciplinary action.”

It is however uncertain why the security personnel were involved in the fracas.

The Delta State Police spokesman, Bright Edafe, when contacted on the development said they are treating the issue internally.

We are treating that matter internally,” he said without giving details.
