The Labour Party governorship candidate in Lagos, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV) has slammed his opponent, Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) hours to the March 18 governorship election.
In recent days, there have been a series of speculations over an alleged alliance between GRV and Jandor ahead of the much-anticipated governorship election. There were speculations that the Labour Party governorship candidate has agreed to step down for the PDP candidate.
However, CityNews Nigeria has reported that Labour Party had issued a statement earlier today to insist that GRV remains a contestant in the governorship race and called on the party’s supporters to vote for him.
As a follow-up to the lengthy statement, GRV took to his verified Twitter page earlier today to describe Jandor as a “dying horse”.
The LP governorship candidate wrote, “I have read the fabricated lies from the Jandor camp and I will like to assure our supporters that we are not only leading the race we are winning. Consider his many scripts and tantrums the last kick of a dying horse.”
The Labour Party governorship candidate, GRV, and that of the PDP, Jandor, are the major contenders against the incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress for Saturday’s guber polls.
They both believe they can unseat Sanwo-Olu who has the backing of the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
