Davido Speaks On Losing His Son, Mother, Others
Popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, also known as Davido, has spoken on individuals in his life he has lost.
Speaking during an interview with Beat FM, Davido explained that he dedicated a tune from his new album, Timeless to those he has lost, including his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.
The singer, whose album Timeless was released today, March 31, described those he had lost as legends.
CityNews Nigeria recalls that Ifeanyi passed on October 31, 2022 after David lost his closest friend and bodyguard.
Speaking on the loss he has suffered, the Afrobeats star, noted that ‘Legends Can Never Die’ was written as a result of his admission that even though they are no longer with him physically, he still senses their spiritual presence around him.
He said, “Like over time. Even everybody knows that I lost my mother at 10. Losing my best friend and my bodyguard in one to two years, and then losing a child and all that together.
”I don’t think the song is really being sad. I just feel like since I have lost all of them, I don’t want to really feel like they have left me spiritually. I still have them around me a kind of. They were all legends. So that’s why I say that a legend never dies.”
