Breaking! Maiwada: Nigeria Customs Service Gets New Spokesman

The Nigeria Customs Service has gotten a new national spokesman identified as Abdullahi Maiwada.

CityNews Nigeria reports that this is as the Comptroller General of the  Service, Col Hameed Ali (retd.), approved the appointment of Maiwada, as the National Public Relations Officer of the service.

The development was contained in a  statement issued by the service on Monday.

According to the statement, Maiwada would take be taking over from the former spokesman, Comptroller Timi Bomodi, who had since been redeployed to Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Area Command as the Area Controller.

Maiwada, before his appointment, was the Deputy National Public Relations Officer of the service from January 2022 to February 2023.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education/Geography and a Masters degree in Environmental Management from Bayaro University, Kano.

Meanwhile CityNews Nigeria learnt that the Board of the Nigeria Customs Service has approved the appointment of three Assistant Comptrollers General (ACGs), and the promotion of 1,490 senior officers of general duty and support staff to various ranks.

The NCS said Greg Itotoh, Festus Okun, and Shuaibu Ibrahim have been appointed as the three Assistant Comptrollers General (ACGs).
