BREAKING: PDP announces winner of gov’ship primary election in Bayelsa

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State has announced Governor Douye Diri as its governorship candidate for the upcoming November 11 gubernatorial election in the state.

CITYNEWS NIGERIA reports that the Bayelsa State Governor emerged as the party’s flag-bearer for re-election in November this year.

Being the party’s sole aspirant, Governor Diri received 305 votes in the primaries which was conducted by the PDP panel headed by Osun State Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke.

Senator Diri expressed gratitude to the party’s leaders and stakeholders for the opportunity to fly the PDP flag and expressed confidence that the achievements recorded by the current administration in the last three years would propel his re-election.

The Governor also thanked the immediate past Governor, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, for his “unwavering support”.
