Supplementary election: Gov Fintiri maintains lead as INEC concludes collation

The Adamawa State Governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the ongoing supplementary governorship election, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri is currently maintaining the lead.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has so far collated 10 out of the 20 local government areas where the supplementary elections are taking place.

Recall that the electoral umpire had declared the March 18 election inconclusive after several controversies that trailed results from some local government areas.

The governor had scored 421,524 votes in the March 18 governorship election against Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani of the All Progressives Congress, APC who garnered 390,275 votes.

Saturday’s election was conducted in a total of 69 polling units with 36,935 eligible voters.

Results of 10 local government areas so far collated show Governor Fintiri leading with 4,292 while Binani got 3,128.
