Godswill Akpabio, former minister of Niger Delta affairs and senator representing Akwa Ibom north-west, on Saturday, paid a courtesy visit to Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife.
CityNews Nigeria reports that Akpabio is among the top lawmakers seeking to be the next senate president when the 10th national assembly is inaugurated in June.
On Saturday, David Umahi, governor of Ebonyi state, said he had dropped his senate president bid and endorsed Akpabio.
Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano, had also said Akpabio would be the next senate president.
Barau Jibrin, senator representing Kano north and Umahi accompanied the senate presidential hopeful during the visit.
