Aisha Reacts As Lagos Govt Denies Report Of Mass Burial For #Endsars Victims

Nigerian activist, Aisha Yesufu has reacted to the denial by the Lagos State Government of the mass burial of 103 protesters who were ‘massacred’ at the Lekki tollgate during the October 20, 2020 #EndSARS protest.

CityNews Nigeria reported that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has described as deliberate misinterpretation and sensationalization of reports that he approved the mass burial of at least 103 protesters who were massacred at the Lekki toll gate.

According to a letter dated July 19 by the public procurement agency, the state government engaged the service of Messrs Tos Funeral Ltd, a private firm at the cost of N61,285,000 to bury 103 bodies which were identified to be victims of the killings.

Reacting to the denial in a Twitter post on Sunday, Yesufu mocked the Lagos government over its denial of the report of a mass burial for victims of protest killed at the Lekki tollgate in 2020.

She wrote: “Lagos State was so effective that it immediately picked up bodies of victims before the communities had the opportunity to identify and bury their bodies!

“These people really do not rate us at all! On the night of the shooting at Lekki Tollgate, many of the protesters kept saying…”
