Nigerian Journalist and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Dele Momodu has frowned at the ‘show of shame’ displayed in court during the arraignment of suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.
CityNews reports that after the drama that occurred in court between the Department of State Services (DSS) and Prison Officials, Emefiele was rearrested by the secret police.
Reacting to the turnout of events, the veteran journalist took to his Instagram page to share a video of the ‘ugly scene’ inside the court premises.
He further questioned the crimes of the former CBN governor, adding that the security operatives keep disgracing the country in the name of power.
He wrote: “What an ugly scene right inside court premises in Nigeria, under a civilian regime, and our elder statesmen are keeping quiet!!! What exactly are EMEFIELE’s crimes? A court of Law has granted him bail, so let him perfect his bail conditions, instead of all this gragra… We keep disgracing our country in the name of ABSOLUTE POWER…
“I remember an African President who told his successor not to harass any member of his team because whatever they did or did not do were duly authorized by him and he was ready to go to jail on their behalf… THAT’S A MAN…”
